Eddie Turnbull

1923 — 2011

A member of Hibernian’s “Famous Five” forward line Eddie Turnbull was a driving force behind the clubs success during the late 1940s and 1950s. With Hibernian Turnbull won three League Championship titles and in 1955 he became the first British player to score a goal in the European Cup. Eddie won eight Scotland caps, made four appearances for the Scottish League and played at the 1958 World Cup Finals in Sweden. He later enjoyed a successful managerial career with Aberdeen and Hibernian.
