Sandy Jardine

1948 — 2014

A top class defender for the best part of 20 years Sandy Jardine was voted Scottish Player of the Year with Hearts in 1986 at the age of 37 and amassed over 1,000 first class matches at club level. He also won 38 caps for Scotland and lifted much silverware with Rangers, including the European Cup Winner’s Cup winner in 1972. He was a finalist in the same competition in 1967, was a Scottish League champion in 1975, 1976 and 1978, a Scottish Cup winner in 1973, 1976, 1978, 1979 and 1981, and a Scottish League Cup winner in 1971, 1978, 1979, and 1982.
