Scotland Goalkeeper Shirt 1982

This is a Scotland goalkeeper's shirt worn by Alan Rough in the FIFA World Cup Finals match against New Zealand at Malaga, Spain 1982.

The matches of Group 6 featured the national teams of Brazil, the Soviet Union, Scotland, and New Zealand facing each other in Seville and Malaga. The Rosaleda stadium hosted three matches, and Scotland played in two. In Malaga, Scotland defeated New Zealand on the 15th of June, and on the 22nd of June, the team held the Soviet Union to a draw. Scotland didn't progress in the competition after finishing third in the group.

Alan Rough won 53 caps for Scotland and played in two FIFA World Cups. He also had a long club career playing principally with Partick Thistle and Hibernian.
